Microsoft Windows 11

I bought a new 16" HP Omnibook (258V, 32gb). It came with a HP Rechargeable MPP 2.0 . No instructions on how to pair - all videos online are from previous pens.

How did HP miss including documentation? I'm very technically inclined and have tried everything.

Hey @heyepic,

Thank you for your response

The provided instructions include the necessary steps to connect your pen to the unit. Alternatively, you can follow the steps below to pair it with your device:

Charge the Pen Fully:

First, make sure the pen is fully charged. The HP Rechargeable MPP 2.0 pen should come with a USB-C charging port, so use the included cable or any compatible USB-C charger. A low battery might prevent pairing.

Enable Bluetooth on Your Omnibook:

For the MPP 2.0 pens, you often need Bluetooth enabled, even though the connection isn’t really "Bluetooth" in the traditional sense—it's just using Bluetooth to establish a connection initially. Here's how you can ensure Bluetooth is turned on:

Go to Settings > Devices > Bluetooth & other devices.

Make sure Bluetooth is turned on.

Enter Pairing Mode on the Pen:

The HP MPP 2.0 pen should have a small pairing button.

Press and hold the button for about 7-10 seconds until you see a blinking light, which indicates the pen is in pairing mode.

Pair the Pen on the Omnibook:

Once the pen is in pairing mode, go to your Bluetooth settings on your HP Omnibook:

Settings > Devices > Bluetooth & other devices > Add Bluetooth or other device.

Select Bluetooth, and your pen should appear in the list of available devices.

Select the pen to pair.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.

Please provide a picture of the pairing button on this pen that came with my Omnibook.

I only see two buttons along with expanding it to expose the charging port.
