I bought HP Envy x360 13-ay0015no and it came with a pen. The pen worked perfectly for on the first use when the laptop was bought and has not used it since. It is no longer in warranty as I bought everything 2 years ago. I have recently tried using the pen again. I tried to charge it but it shows that it's fully charged. I also tried to change the head of the pen but it did not help. Contacting customer service is impossible since I cannot find the serial number of the pen, checked the pen and the box and the number was nowhere to be found. I don't know what happened or what to do now.

The pen is HP Rechargeable MPP2.0 Tilt Pen.

Hi @bob-2 ,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your HP Rechargeable MPP2.0 Tilt Pen is not working despite being fully charged, you can try the following troubleshooting steps:

Re-Pair the Pen: Sometimes, re-pairing the pen with the laptop can resolve connectivity issues. Follow these steps:

  • Go to your laptop's Bluetooth settings.
  • Forget the paired pen device.
  • Put the pen in pairing mode (refer to the pen's manual for instructions).
  • Re-pair the pen with the laptop.

Update Drivers: Ensure that your laptop has the latest drivers installed. Check the HP support website for your laptop model and download any updated drivers for pen functionality.

Check Pen Settings: Verify that the pen settings on your laptop are correctly configured. You can find these settings in the Windows settings menu under "Devices" and then "Pen & Windows Ink."

Test on Another Device: If possible, try the pen on another compatible device to see if it works. This will help you determine if the issue lies with the pen or the laptop.

Pen Calibration: Some pens require calibration. Check your laptop's settings for pen calibration and perform the calibration process if available.

Inspect for Physical Damage: Carefully inspect the pen for any physical damage, including the pen tip. If you find any damage, it may be affecting the pen's functionality.

Reset Pen: Some pens have a reset button or process. Refer to the pen's manual for instructions on how to reset it.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.-
