I am trying to connect my HP S14 external portable monitor to my HP14 laptop via USBC. I have tried a few different cables but keep getting the error "Display connection may be limited". I AM able to connect other external monitors via a dock to my PC using USBC, so I assume the USBC interface should support this. Is there some limitation with the S14 that I'm unaware of, or something else I can try to get it to work, or is there a setting I need to adjust on my laptop?

It's a HP14 dq2053cl. Yes it has USBC. According to the HP site - 1 SuperSpeed USB Type-C® 5Gbps signaling rate; 2 SuperSpeed USB Type-A 5Gbps signaling rate; .
How do I know if it supports Alt Mode? I am able to plug a dock into the USBC and my monitors work fine. If it doesn't support alt mode, is there some kind of mini adapter to use to allow it to (like the dock does)?
thanks!
