Hi @CaptainM56,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

Screen issues on a laptop can be caused by various factors, including hardware or software issues. Since you've already updated the BIOS and the problem persists, you might want to consider the following steps.

  1. Graphics Drivers: Ensure that your graphics drivers are up to date. You can go to the HP website or the graphics card manufacturer's website to download and install the latest drivers for your specific model.

  2. Windows Updates: Make sure your operating system is fully updated. Sometimes, Windows updates include fixes for graphics-related issues. Go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update to check for updates.

  3. Display Settings: Check your display settings to make sure they are configured correctly. Right-click on the desktop, select Display settings, and verify the resolution and refresh rate settings. Make sure they match the recommended settings for your laptop.

  4. Hardware Diagnostics: Run hardware diagnostics to check for any potential hardware problems. Many laptops have built-in diagnostics tools that you can access during the boot process. Check your laptop's manual or support website for instructions on running diagnostics.

  5. External Devices: If you have any external devices connected (external monitor, docking station, etc.), disconnect them and see if the issue persists. Sometimes, external devices can cause conflicts or issues with the laptop display.

  6. Power Settings: Adjust your power settings to ensure they are not causing display issues. Sometimes, aggressive power-saving settings can lead to problems. Go to Control Panel > Power Options and select a balanced power plan.

  7. System Restore: If the issue started recently, you might consider using System Restore to revert your system to a point before the problem began. This can help if the issue is related to a recent software change.

  8. Check for Overheating: Overheating can sometimes cause graphical issues. Make sure your laptop is not overheating by checking the temperature. You can use third-party tools or built-in utilities to monitor the temperature.

Remember to back up important data before making significant changes to your system, especially if you are considering a system restore or any other operation that may affect your files.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
