- HP Spectre X360 14" 2023 - Display turns off once fully fold...

I have bought HP Spectre X360 13.5" 1920*1280 IPS + 1255U.
Windows 11 Home 23H2 (originally installed by HP) + all drivers up to date + bios F.26 + parameter when lid closed is put to "do nothing when lid closed".
All possible bios params already modified.
The issue, when I'm folding the laptop like a tablet, the display is swirching off and deseapearing from settings/display menu... For Windows, it's considered that the lid is closed, because I'm getting the same thing when I'm closing the lid.
I have tried with external connected monitor to usb-c/dp and it's working fine for external monitor.
At the same time, only external monitor is listed in Panel of Intel and Windows Settings/Display menu.
The internal display still presents on Device Manager.
P.S: seems to be driver/bios or windows register key issue.
Laptop is designed for French Belgian market.
Any ideas?
Laptop never fallen, was never repaired... in excellent condition/like coming from box (not used a lot).

Hi @BAsystem,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds like a frustrating issue you're encountering with your HP Spectre X360. Since you've already checked BIOS settings and updated drivers, there are a few more troubleshooting steps we can try.
- Check Power Settings: Sometimes, power settings can affect how the system behaves when the lid is closed or when the device is folded into tablet mode. Go to Control Panel > Hardware and Sound > Power Options, and make sure that the settings for what happens when the lid is closed are set to "Do nothing".
- Reset Power Settings: Sometimes power settings can become corrupted. Try resetting your power settings to default by opening Command Prompt as an administrator and typing the following command: powercfg -restoredefaultschemes.
- Update BIOS: Although you mentioned your BIOS is up to date, it's worth double-checking if there are any newer versions available on HP's support website. Sometimes, even if it seems like the BIOS is up to date, there might be a newer version released after your last check.
- Reinstall Graphics Drivers: Even though you mentioned drivers are up to date, it might be worth uninstalling your graphics drivers completely and then reinstalling them. Sometimes, driver installations can be corrupted or incomplete. Make sure to download the drivers directly from HP's support website.
- Windows Update: Ensure that your Windows 11 installation is fully up to date. Sometimes, Windows updates can fix compatibility issues or bugs that may be causing the problem.
- System Restore: If the issue started recently, you can try using System Restore to revert your system to a point before the issue occurred. Search for "System Restore" in the Start menu, and follow the prompts to restore your system to an earlier state.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.

Hi Alden4,
I have noticed that the Windows Update has upgraded my firmware/bios to 15.26.0.0 version that id dated of 28 March 2024 ! By accessing to bios, I'm observing F.26 version !
However, when I'm checking with my part and serial numbers on hp.com, there's no such version of bios ! The latest one is F.25A dated of December 2023 !
My model is 14-EF0010NB.
For videos drivers, I have downloaded and installed latest one v31.x.x.4xxx available here for Intel Iris Xe.
By reverting to closed lid. It's already configured to "do nothing".
I have also noticed 2 things.
When I'm "switching on" the laptop and directly flipping it into tablet state, before HP logo appears, the backlight of display is switching off but pixels of display stays "on" and I can clearly see HP logo before Windows starts !
Once Windows started, the display becomes totally dark (backlight and pixels are off) and Windows concidering flipped into tablet like laptop with closed lid !
It means, that the sensor of laptop is working correctly, drivers and Windows are operating correctly.
To conclude, there's something wrong with firmware/bios of laptop.
Why on official HP website, I can see only F.25A version of bios but Windows Update upgraded my bios to F.26 ?
Due to security restrictions related to possibility of downgrade of bios, I'm not able to flash previous "official" that available here on HP host ...
I think, Windows Update upgrading to bios that isn't totally compatible with all controllers of 2-1 Spectre X360 laptop 14-EF0000 series, especially with controller/sensor of lid that data is incorrectly interprited by bios and ACPI driver... It's why flipped into tablet state , the lid of laptop is considered as closed ( display is totally switched off ) but laptop is still operating and can be connected to external monitor.
