Ok, so HP has done it again.
I swear to god this is the last time I am buying an HP product. All of this because of the trash I am getting fed up with - driver support.
So... during an yearly maintenance operation (removing dust from the fans) I found out with horror that the battery was swollen to almost twice the size of the normal battery. Fortunately for me my unit is still in warranty (bought the extended warranty - edited if that wasn't a wise choice in perspective...).
So, after talking to HP support I did get a replacement battery. I did change it myself and it's ok now. Nevertheless, even before I found out that HP is casually selling 2000 EUR laptops which can catch fire or explode after 1 year of normal usage (yes, the battery problem is quite common, just search those forums or google it), I was getting those edited TDR VIDEO FAILURE BSOD(s) errors.
They have become more and more common lately. So... maybe it's the drivers. So I checked. Update... => nothing to update. Try again. Nothing.
To my surprise (horror again), even though HP "provided" the standard DCH drivers, they're not really standard. Those Intel Graphics drivers are still HP signed. This means that the current "best" version (HP supplied) is
25.20.100.6373
The most up to date DCH Intel Graphics driver is...
26.20.100.7463
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am really foaming at the mouth here.
Get your god edited act in order. Update the drivers. this is not a cheap unit, but a god edited PREMIUM 2000 EUR/USD Laptop and I god edited expect the quality for which I payed for.
You got one week. I'm serious. I mean I don't give a edited nor do I care how you guys treat your clients in US, but I'll be damned if I don't report you to all EU customer protection related institutions. See how a hefty fine suits you.
