My laptop suddenly stopped taking power and is now basically a brick. HP's "service center" (aka Best Buy) can't do a thing ($100 later) and of course the HP support site has ZERO information about how to send this in. Enrique really needs to think about replacing the head of product support if this is the current state of affairs.
If anyone at HP is actually reading this, would really appreciate some help on getting this laptop fixed

I wish we could help you on this but we here are unable to assist you in this issue.
We are just a Community Support forum staffed by part-time volunteers not affiliated with HP.
We have no access to HP Repair Services and can not help you with issues related to those. These include Repairs, Service Centers and Technician Visits
Nor are we able to contact customers via chat, email, text, or telephone.
If this device is still under warranty, for direct contact with HP, your best bet is to contact HP Customer Service to see what they will do for you:

I am a volunteer and I do not work for, nor represent, HP

Hi @gregj74,
We apologize for the inconvenience, but it seems that the issue needs a hardware repair.
Unfortunately, there are no further actions we can take through this channel. I recommend reaching out to our phone support for further assistance.
They can help you with the unit repair or part replacement.
I request you talk to HP Phone Support and they will help you to sort it out as it requires advance support or repair.
1. Click on this link - https://support.hp.com/us-en
2. Select the country.
3. Enter the serial number of your device.
4. Select the country from the drop-down.
5. Click on "Show Options".
6. Fill out the web form. A case number and phone number will now populate for you.
Please feel free to contact us here anytime you need any further assistance.
Have a great day!

Unfortunately phone support advised that because the Spectre Laptop is 5 years old that its "support life" is ended and HP won't do anything. Very frustrating as the laptop was built to high specs and functioned quite well on Win 11 up until the power issue developed recently.
I agree it needs a hardware repair, but the only authorized service centers HP lists on the website failed to fix the problem. I suppose I'm stuck with finding a local computer repair shop (whom I won't know if an HP authorized service provider) and seeing what they can do with it.
Very frustrating as I've owned 5+ HP laptops and not at all seen the company fail to support its manufactured products (and the same laptop model in question was still being sold as of 2023, so it's not like I'm asking to repair something archaic)
Appreciate any thoughts you might have as to what to do next beyond trying to hunt down a computer repair shop on my own.
