Spectre x360
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi,

I have a HP Spectre x360 - 13-4108na (Energy Star), but have unfortunately cracked the glass on the screen - It didn't take much to crack it.

The lcd display still works (I had to turn off the touchscreen mode though, as the crack kept clicking the mouse).

Is there a way of replacing the front glass only?  Or does the whole top lid need to be replaced?  Or the lcd screen and glass?  I assume this is not an easy DIY fix?  Also, is there a specific part number I need for this?

My laptop is out of warranty... not that it would cover cracked glass.

Thanks!

Hi @DRM100

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

The spare part# if the display assembly is 848809-001 and it is not a customer replaceable part. The steps are mentioned on page# 36 of the Service Guide

I'd suggest you Contact HP in your region regarding the service options for your computer.

Hope this helps. Have a great day!

Hi Asmita,

Thanks for your reply - Yes I will contact HP in the UK.

I have had a quick look for the display assembly online and this costs approximately £750 (1000 USD)!  Once labour is added, the cost to replace this will likely exceed the cost of a new laptop.  Surely this isn't the only option when the only thing broken is the screen glass?

Regards
