Hi,
so I recently bought the HP MPP 2.0 Tilt pen because I dont really like the that one it came with.
Included: https://store.hp.com/GermanyStore/Merch/Product.aspx?id=2MY21AA&opt=ABB&sel=ACC
Bought: https://store.hp.com/GermanyStore/Merch/Product.aspx?id=3J122AA&opt=ABB&sel=ACC
According to the description it should work with my notebook. Input is registered, pressure sensitivity works. What doesn't work is tilt support. I tried uninstalling the software for the included pen (ELAN EzTilt) in case it was overwriting the tilt input, that did not help. Because I m on windows 10 2004 I cant even properly reinstall ELAN EzTilt, because there are no compatible drivers (yay). So right now neither pen works properly.
Maybe the digitizer needs a driver update to support MPP2.0? I can't find anything tho.
Does my device only support MPP 1.51 and the compatibility listing only means "registers input" and not "supports tilt"?
Any advice is appreciated.
Regards
Timo

- Check for updates.
- If the updates are available, click on install and restart the computer.
Note: If you do not have HP Support Assistant installed, Click here to download the same.

Hi,
everyting is up to date. As far as I know Intel Chipset Drivers are installed by the Windows Update process on Win 10 as well.
I ve managed to get the included Tilt Pen working again using SP100856.
But that does not really help me with my new pen.

Timo

Apparently adding images didnt really work, so here is an imgur link:

I understand your concerns.
Please perform the system file check.
1) Select Start, and in the search box, enter Command Prompt. Press and hold (or right-click) Command Prompt (Desktop app) from the search results and select Run as administrator.
2) Enter DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth (note the spaces before each "/").
3) Enter sfc /scannow (note the space between "sfc" and "/").
Also, calibrate the display screen.
Have a nice day!!

Hi,
I ran the restore, did not help.
My touch screen does not need to be calibrated, only the tilt does not work. Besides, its a tool for Win7 and i dont have it installed.
It would be great to know, if my notebook actually supports MPP 2.0, since its from late 2019. Did HP already use the newer MPP 2.0 digitizers in the late 2019 13" models that are now used in the 2020 15" x360 Spectres?
Regards
Timo
EDIT:
I just saw that there is a MS calibration tool as well. I dont want to use it tho, because my input is basically 100% correct and if I calibrate it it will just get worse and my inputs will have an unwanted offset.

I understand your concerns.
In that case, I would suggets you contact our phone support and check for the support option. They will help you.
Here is how you can get in touch with phone support.
1)Click on this link - www.hp.com/contacthp/
2)Select the product type.
3)Enter the serial number of your device or select let HP detect your product option.
4)Select the country from the drop-down.
5)You should see the HP phone support number or Chat option listed.
We are experiencing longer than expected wait times to reach an agent due to the CoViD-19 impact and there might have been issues in you getting the expected resolution on the issue.
Have a nice day!!

Hi,
quick Update:
A digitizer driver update sould be installed using the windows update process in the future. Until then MPP2.0 is not fully supported on my NB.
I will return the pen and buy it again as soon as i get a digitizer update.
Rerards,
Timo
