Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have a HP Spectre x360 - 13t-ae000 CTO, and I am attempting to hook this up to a DELL S2421H Monitor. The device is recognized as I can see it in my device manager, however I can not actually have it display. The DELL turns on, but says it is receiving no HDMI signal. I have this connected via a USB-c to HDMI cable.

I spoke with DELL who said that the cable could be wrong, however when we looked, it states that using a straight cable (as opposed to using an additional adapter) was fine for this monitor.

My drivers and BIOS are updated.

Thank you.

@Backseat_Bingo

Thank you for posting on the HP Support Community.

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, however, to provide an accurate resolution, I need a few more details:

  • Did this happen after a recent window or software update?
  • Did you connect it to an external TV to check if it works?
  • Did you try multiple HDMI cables?

For now please try these steps:

  • Right-Click on the start button> click device manager> expand display adapters>then select the display drivers that are listed and right-click on it and uninstall the drivers.
  • Check the box that states delete the software for this device.
  • Then restart the computer and update the bios chipset and graphic drivers from this link: https://support.hp.com/in-en/drivers after selecting the correct Operating system.

If it still does not fix the issue, please perform the relevant steps for HDMI related issues from this link: https://support.hp.com/us-en/product/hp-envy-m7-u100-notebook-pc/10862139/model/11715534/document/c0... regarding video issues. If there is no hardware issue with the computer, this should do the trick for you.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.
