Hi. This is a one and a half year old laptop (just out of warranty), and the screen just went black last week (while in use). No glitch, no flashing, no lines, just Nothing. Hooked up external monitor, displays fine. Checked for driver issue in device manager, and only the new external monitor shows up as hardware, the built in touchscreen doesn't even exist! Built in camera still works fine.

I opened the laptop, and checked the cable connections on the motherboard, they appear fine. This screen is one-time-use taped into the upper case, so I can't easily check cable connections there (and can't put it back together if I did).

Anyone have any ideas on this? I'd like to try uefi diagnostics, but the external screen doesn't turn on at bios boot, so can't see anything! New screen is around $700 apparently, so basically this laptop is a write-off at one year old?

Thanks
