I have the same problem with my screen with lack of contrast and vertical dark lines. A remote monitor works fine without this problem so I assumed it was hardware, but when I read a post from 2022 on a similar topic, I followed Dillips response and tried to download an updated BIOS. The laptop have is a refurbished one but it was updated with Windows 11 from the original windows 10, so when I go to the hp.com download section, it tells me that HP don't provide software updates for Windows 11 on this particular device. This includes the relevant BIOS.

Is this still the case and is there anything I can do?
BTW, As advised, I went into the BIOS from a restart (using f10 key) and when it opened the dark lines had gone.
