Hello,
I currently have an HP Spectre x360 which has been fine for a year. The other day, I was working on a word document when I changed the tab to an application with a grey background and saw the afterimage of the document on the screen. I changed the tab a few more times and this afterimage still persisted. I should still be under warranty for 3 days since the purchase date of this product was 11/23/18. What can I do to get this fixed, as this shouldn't be happening to a "top of the line" computer that's less than a year old!
Any help is appreciated!

Thank you for posting on the HP Support Community.
- Did this happen after a recent window or software update?
- Have you made any hardware/software changes?
- Did you make any changes to the settings of your PC prior to the issue?
- Have you tried updating the graphics and chipset drivers?
Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, I have a few troubleshooting steps we could try to fix the issue:
Firstly, perform Windows Update and HP Support Assistant: ( do not skip any troubleshooting steps if you feel steps are repeating )
To check for updates now, select the Start button, and then go to Settings > Update & security > Windows Update, and select Check for updates.
Install updates from HP Support Assistant: Go to Download HP Support Assistant to install the tool.
- To open HP Support Assistant, double-click the HP Support Assistant icon
.
- Click My devices in the top menu, and then click Updates in the My PC or My notebook pane.
- Click Check for updates and messages to scan for new updates.
- Review the list of updates. Updates with a yellow information icon are recommended. Updates with a blue information icon are optional.
- Click the update name for a description, version number, and file size.
- Select the box next to any updates you want to install, and then click Download and install.
Next step run BIOS Update: Follow steps from the link: https://support.hp.com/in-en/document/c00042629 I
I recommend you attempt to access the BIOS screen by tapping on F10 while the computer is restarting, If the issue persists in the BIOS screen which is outside windows, it would confirm a hardware failure.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.

Oh hey, look, in a short Google search I found more than a dozen instances on the forums of screen burn-in for the x360 Spectres.
SCREEN BURN-IN??!!?!
This is problem we eliminated back in the days of Windows 95 and the flying toasters. There's a reason we don't need screen savers anymore HP and it's because screens don't burn-in anymore. It's like you've brought smallpox back from the dead. Congratulations.
