When using black color background, it looks more obvious.Starting 2 weeks ago, my screen is acting weird. After a window is on screen for couple minutes, the content will stay on the screen even after I switch to a different window. I did a google search online and found out many people having similar issue, and it's called "burn in" or something...

I tried update BIOS to latest, and reboot, update drivers, anything that I can think of. No luck. My laptop is very light used and it's about 16 months old. I have never experienced something like this with all my previous HP purchases, but this issue sounds like a manufacturing issue given the large number of cases out there... Anyone has experience on how to deal with it?

Really appreciate your time!

@Pingtendo

Thank you for posting on the HP Support Community.

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, however, to provide an accurate resolution, I need a few more details:

  • Have you updated Graphics and Chipset drivers?
  • Have you checked the display on an external monitor?

let’s try these steps to resolve the problem:

I recommend you attempt to access the BIOS screen by tapping on F10 while the computer is restarting,

If the issue persists in the BIOS screen Or on an external monitor which is outside windows, it would confirm a hardware failure.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.
