Bought the Spectre x360 14" 2 in 1, it comes supplied with a stylus and even has magnets on the left hand side of the keyboard to attach it, so I would like to think it is compatible. However after I charged it for 45 mins as the guide said to, and then looking at YouTube to find that I needed to touch it to the screen to activate it, it still would not work. Help would be appreciated, I bought this model for business presentations using the pen for changing slides.

Sorry that does nothing to rectify the issue, the Stylus app was preinstalled and does nothing to "activate" the pen, it just assigns a different function to the buttons. My issue is the tilt pen supplied with the spectre x360 that I bought will not turn on when you tap the screen.

No need to apologize - the answer was offered with hope it would help.
That it does not do so is unfortunate, of course.
Ignore any information that you feel does not apply to your situation.
I do not know how to perform a hardware diagnostic test on a pen.
Other ideas - ignore if not relevant ...
If you believe the failure came about as the result of a Windows Update,
Try removing that update.
If you believe the failure came about as the result of another File System change,
If you have a viable Restore Point stored,
You could try using System Restore to take the computer back to a date / time the device was working.
If you believe the failure might be due to an HP software or driver change,
Run HPSA (HP Support Assistant) to update your drivers OR perform a manual check of the Software / Drivers for your system and your version of Windows. One thing to check is whether your BIOS is updated / current for your version of Windows.
What else?
If the computer is still in Warranty and the Pen came with the computer,
Open a case with HP Support.
Submit the case using the computer's serial number (do NOT post that information here).
