Hi @Guzel1604,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

Sure, I can help you troubleshoot your HP Spectre x360 camera issue. Here are some steps you can follow.

Check Privacy Settings: Sometimes, the camera might be disabled in the operating system settings. Here’s how to check:

  • Go to Settings (you can usually find it in the Start menu or by searching for it).
  • Click on Privacy.
  • In the left sidebar, select Camera.
  • Make sure that the toggle switch under "Allow apps to access your camera" is turned On.
  • Also, ensure that individual apps are allowed to access the camera if needed.

Update Drivers: Outdated or corrupted drivers can cause issues with hardware devices. You can update the camera drivers by:

  • Right-clicking on the Start button and selecting Device Manager.
  • Expand the Cameras section.
  • Right-click on your camera device (it might be listed under Imaging devices or Cameras) and select Update driver.
  • Choose Search automatically for updated driver software and follow the on-screen instructions.

Restart Your Laptop: Sometimes a simple restart can fix temporary issues with hardware devices. Restart your HP Spectre x360 and see if the camera starts working again.

Check for Windows Updates: It’s possible that a Windows update could resolve the issue. Check for and install any available updates:

  • Go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update.
  • Click on Check for updates and install any updates found.

Check for Physical Blockages: Ensure there’s nothing physically blocking your camera on the laptop. Some laptops have a sliding cover or physical switch that can accidentally cover the camera lens.

Run the HP Support Assistant: HP laptops often come with a built-in support tool called HP Support Assistant. This tool can diagnose and automatically fix many common problems. Look for it in your list of programs or search for it in the Start menu.

Check Camera App Permissions: If you’re using a specific camera app (like Zoom, Skype, etc.), ensure that the app itself has permission to access the camera. This setting is usually found within the app’s own settings or preferences.

Perform a System Restore (if necessary): As a last resort, you can try restoring your system to a previous point in time when the camera was working. This option is available in Settings > Update & Security > Recovery > Advanced startup > Restart now > Troubleshoot > Advanced options > System Restore.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
