HP Thunderbolt Dock 120W G2
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)
Hi all, I have an HP Spectre X360 13t-ap000 connected to a HP Thunderbolt G2 120W dock that connects to two Dell U2518D monitors via the G2's dual DisplayPort sockets. The setup worked for 2+ years but last week first one then both monitors stopped displaying output and I get the onscreen message "no DP cable detected".

The G2 is still charging the laptop via the front USB C cable as normal. I'm using one of the G2's USB 3.0 ports with a USB A to USB B cable connected to the Dell monitor to make use of the monitors USB ports and they're working as normal despite no display output. (I'm using another of the G2's USB 3.0 ports with a Logitech mouse dongle and it's working as normal.)

While problem solving this issue I used a USB C to DisplayPort HDMI cable between the G2's USB C DisplayPort socket and the monitor and I get a display output on the monitor. (I tried the same with a USB C to HDMI cable and USB C to mini DisplayPort cable and in all scenarios the monitor displays output.)

Yesterday I ran the G2 firmware update package v1.0.60.1 and updated the laptop's Windows 10 software to version 21H2 but that didn't resolve the issue.

Fyi, I also use my Macbook Air A2337 with the G2 dock and monitor and am experiencing the same display output issues.

Is there a solution to resolve the dock or do I need to replace the unit?
