HP Tilt Pen
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have a HP Tilt Pen and have been using it on my HP Spectre X360 for some time now in both onenote 2016 and Windows ink Scetch pad for a while with no problems. But reasently the end used for erasing in these programs would no longer function as an eraser. The end would still perform the shortcut button fuctions i had programed as well as still be recognized on the screen as a hover entity but would no longer erase.

Since i had this problem i have update all that i could and gone through the setting in both programs as well as in windows setting its self. I am thouroughly confoused and have read some other post but the post that i have found have 'dead links' so they turn out to be very little help.

Please let me what this problem may be.

Thank you so mcuh!

Replace the battery in the pen.

It is a AAAA battery.

The HP Pen that i have is rechargable with a type C cord. If it does have a battiery then i do not know how to replace it and could fined a video on the HP Tilt Pen replacement process.

Also the problem is only acuring on the eraser feature not being recogonized with the rest of the pen being fully functional.

OK.

Are you sure the pen is in Pen mode instead of presentation mode when you are trying to erase?

Blinking green would indicate the pen is in presentation mode.

See the Tilt pen user guide at the link below.

Yes the pen is in Pen mode, but since you asked i double check by changing it to Presentation mode the back to Pen mode and still had the problem with the eraser only.

OK.

Have you gone into the Control panel and checked the settings in  Pen and Touch section yet?

There is a pen button section, where for pens other than the Tilt pan, a tick mark should be in the box next to  where it says use the top of the pen to erase ink (where applicable).  If that has a tick in it, it could very well be the issue with your tilt pen.

Next, you can go into the Device Manager and expand the Human Interface Devices section.  Right click on the HID-compliant pen  device and select uninstall device.  Once it has been removed you can rioght click on anything in the device manager and select scan for hardware changes. The driver for the HID-complioant pin will be reinstalled. That may resolve the issue.

If that does not resolve the issue then I suggest using your warranty to have the Tilt pen replaced by HP or the vendor you prurchased it from.

The HP factory warranty is valid for one year from the date of purchase.

I had exactly the same issue. After checking everything and updating all involved driver it gets clear, the issue is on the Pen itself (Hardware). HP support hase replaced the Pen. Now it's working!
