@RAAMP-IT, Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

I see you're having trouble with your HP True Vision 5MP Camera on your HP ENVY x360 14-inch 2-in-1 Laptop. Let's troubleshoot and see if we can get it working!

Check Camera in Device Manager:

Right-click the Start button and select Device Manager.

Expand the Imaging Devices category and look for HP True Vision 5MP Camera.

If you see a yellow exclamation mark or it’s missing, it could indicate a driver issue.

Update Camera Driver:

Right-click HP True Vision 5MP Camera in Device Manager and select Update Driver.

Choose Search automatically for updated driver software.

If a newer driver is found, it will install automatically. If it’s up to date, try the next steps.

Reinstall Camera Driver:

If updating doesn't work, try uninstalling the driver.

Right-click HP True Vision 5MP Camera in Device Manager and select Uninstall device.

After uninstalling, restart your laptop, and Windows should reinstall the driver automatically.

Check Camera Privacy Settings:

Open Settings (press Windows + I).

Go to Privacy & Security > Camera.

Make sure camera access is turned on for both the system and apps.

Check for Windows Updates:

Sometimes camera issues are fixed in system updates.

Go to Settings > Windows Update > Check for updates.

I hope this helps.

Please feel free to reply here if you have any questions or if you need further clarification on any of the steps.

Take care and have a good day.

Hullo RAAMP-IT.

It  can be very annoying when hardware fails withoutvapparent reason , especially if you use it a lot. I recently discovered that this same model of camera had stopped working on my HP-ENVY 13-inch laptop. When I started the camera app, I got a black screen saying  "We couldn't find your camera". - Error 0xA00F4244.

I uninstalled the driver in Device Manager and expected all to be right when I re-booted.. The camera still refused to work and I was on the point of buying an external webcam. As a last resort I went carefully through all the driver entries in Device Manager and finally found a solution. So try this:

1. In the search box type "device manager".

2. Right-click the entry in the list and select "Run as Administrator".

3. From the list select Cameras >>> HP True Vision  5MP camera.

4.. Select the Details tab and check it says "Intel AVStream Camera.

5. Go tonthe Driver tab and check the date - 11/05 2023.

6. Then go to the System Devices in Device Manager and look for the same camera in the list.

7. Click the Details tab and check it says  under Device Description - Camera Sensor HI 556.

8. Click the Driver tab and check the date of the driver.

9. If it is in 2025 press the "Roll Back" button and try to get 25/05/2023.

10. Close device manager, and reboot your computer.

11. Open the Camera app to see itf it works.

I do not use the camera often but I suspect that the driver update in March this year caused it to  malfunction.

Let us know if you have any success!
