HP Envy 15x360
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

My internal web camera is not working. When I open the Camera app, I get the error: 0xA00F4244<NoCamerasAreAtached>. Skype and Zoom return similar errors. I could not find an entry for it in Device Manager until I updated view to Show Hidden Devices. I've updated the driver with no luck. Looking at the Events, it looks like something changed a year ago, but I have no idea what.

Additional note: the microphone does not work either. Not sure if that is the same issue.

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

For the webcam issue, try these steps: https://windowsreport.com/fix-camera-not-working-due-error-code-0xa00f4244/

For the issue with the microphone, try these: https://support.hp.com/in-en/document/c03421813

So I needed to reboot my machine, and now I'm back to the camera/speaker not working. I've gone back through the fixes you suggested, and none help. Is there anything else I can try?

Let's do a SFC scan:

Type cmd in the Start search box. In the result, which appears, right click on cmd and select Run As Administrator.

In the command prompt window which opens, type sfc /scannow and hit Enter.

Also, let's perform a system reset: https://support.hp.com/in-en/document/c04742289

Let me know if this helps.

No problems found during scan. I installed Windows update and checked for BIOS update (none found). While rebuilding PC, I found that my external USB drive does not work either. Not sure if that is related.

Any other things to try?

HP Recommended

I forgot to mention, I did perform a system reset as well.
