Hi there,
Please could someone help me?
When I bought my HP250 G8 Notebook, the resaler categorically informed me that the HP250 G8 was compatible with the HP USB-C/A Universal Dock G2. It is not listed in the compatibility, but they still advised this dock would be compatible.
I have been trying and trying to get answers to this question both from the supplier of the dock and HP, to no avail.
Could someone please confirm if they have got this working on such a Notebook?
Do I need to install Firmware on my Notebook?
Many thanks
Gary

I understand , but that dock (HP USB-C/A Universal Dock G2) is not compatible with DisplayLink, and can not use for display. The compatible one I believe is the HP Travel Hub Multiport.
Anyway download the DisplayLink software and see if it is possible to activate the HUB you currently have.

Hi @garybravo
It is compatible, but if you want to connect a display, you will not be able to do it, the USB-C port of the laptop is not compatible with DisplayPort.

Thank you Resistencia for replying promptly,
My HP250 G8 has USB-A port which I currently have a generic cheap Dock working with a DisplayLink Driver installed on my HP250 G8 Notebook, with two additional extended screens . The HDMI ports have become worn on the dock, so wanted to replace with an HP decent dock.
Cheers
Gary
