HP USB-C Dock G5
Microsoft Windows 11

I am consistently having issues with my two external monitors being detected by the HP USB-C Dock G5. My laptop is HP Pavilion Plus 16t-ab000 and according to the HP website, this dock is compatible with this laptop. I have two external LG HD monitors, both with a max resolution of 1920x1080 and set to 60Hz. My monitors were initially connected via VGA to a VGA-to-DP adapters so I thought that might be the issue and instead purchased HDMI to DP cords (HDMI at monitor, DP at dock). The problem continues unabated. The only way to get the screens to be detected again is to disconnect the USB-C connection from the dock to the laptop and then reconnect it again, often needing to do this multiple times before both monitors show up again.

Of note - I had a similar problem when it was plugged into a different dock, but that stopped at least briefly when I got the HP dock. I have already updated my BIOS to make sure the HD setting for monitors is enabled.

The specs of your machine is

You should be able to connect it with the HP USB-C G5 dock and get 3 FHD display using the right cables. I tested (highlighted in yellow) on few different HP machines and a Dell machine.     dock g5.png

Thanks for the help. I'm not sure what it means with the right cables. I'm using two LG monitors and the options I have for monitor output are VGA or HDMI. I currently am using HDMI to DP cables and have them plugged into the docking station. What kind of cables would I need to use to have the monitors consistently detected?
