'HP USB-C G5 essential dock' does not recognize my monitor
Having connected the 'HP USB-C G5 essential dock' to my notebook, I'm unable to get anything on the monitor - and in addition the Notebook does not charge via the USB-type C cable.
I have a new 'HP 250 G9 Notebook' (windows 11) and connected it to a new 'HP USB-C G5 essential dock', via the USB-type-C cable. My Philips monitor (brilliance 221B with HDMI and DisplayPort) is not detected.
Get windows message "Display connection might be limited".
If I plug the monitor directly into my Notebook it is recognized.
If I connect my 'Dell latitude 7390' notebook to the dock (via the USB-type-C cable), the monitor is detected (windows10) and the notebook is charged.
Have tried:
- Searching and reading similar issues but not found a resolution
- Restarting, unplugging and re starting all that stuff
- Installing latest windows updates
- Updating latest HP drivers
So I conclude the problem is isolated to the docking station (hardware/software?).
I suspect that the product has already been used when I look at the packaging and how it was packaged.
Also the warranty start date is 31/1/2023 but I purchased it at 21/2/2023.
Please help to resolve the problem or advice how to return the device and get it replaced by a working one?
