My HP Victus 15 Camera isn't working. I tried updating the BIOS system Firmware, which was successful, but it still hasn't had any effect on the camera.

Thanks for posting your question. I'm here to help you get things back on track.
Here’s a step-by-step guide to help resolve the camera issue on your HP Victus 15-fb1000 laptop running Windows 11:

Use HP’s Webcam Troubleshooter

This guide includes:

  • Checking device manager for camera status
  • Updating or reinstalling the camera driver
  • Testing the camera with the Windows Camera app

Reinstall the Camera Driver

  1. Press Windows + X → Select Device Manager.
  2. Expand Cameras or Imaging Devices.
  3. Right-click your camera → Select Uninstall device.
  4. Restart your laptop. Windows should reinstall the driver automatically.

Update Drivers via HP Support Assistant

  1. Download and install HP Support Assistant.HP Support Assistant | HP® Support
  2. Open the app → Go to Updates → Install any available camera or chipset drivers.

Run HP Hardware Diagnostics

Use HP’s built-in diagnostics to test the camera hardware:

Check App Permissions

  1. Go to Settings > Privacy & Security > Camera.
  2. Ensure Camera access is turned On.
  3. Make sure apps like Camera, Zoom, or Teams have permission to use the camera.
