Victus by HP 16.1 inch Gaming Laptop PC 16-s0000 (76T56AV)

My HP Victus 16 has experienced four separate display-related failures, and I am seeking help with escalation.

I purchased this laptop for approximately ₹80,000 and use it as my primary professional machine. I work as a Senior Security Engineer in cybersecurity, so the laptop is essential for security testing, virtual machines, development environments and other professional workloads.

The laptop has now experienced four separate display-related incidents:

1. First incident: Display damage

The display required replacement, which I paid for out of pocket.

2. Second incident: Display repeatedly turning ON/OFF

The display began repeatedly powering on and off during use. HP serviced the laptop and replaced the motherboard. I have video evidence of the issue.

3. Third incident: Same problem after motherboard replacement

A few months after the motherboard replacement, the exact same display power-cycling behavior returned despite the motherboard being replaced with a new unit.

The problem eventually stopped on its own, so I did not proceed with another repair at that time. I have video evidence of this occurrence as well.

I have since found multiple reports from other Victus 16 owners describing similar display power-cycling/Hall sensor-related behavior. I am not claiming these reports prove the cause of my particular failure, but I believe they are relevant when evaluating whether this is an isolated issue.

4. Fourth incident: Current display failure

The display currently has a thick band of colorful lines running through a significant portion of the center of the screen.

There has been no impact or other physical incident that I am aware of that would explain this failure.

Interestingly, changing the display hinge angle changes or temporarily removes the lines, while other angles cause them to return. I have photographs and videos documenting this behavior.

Because the defect runs through the center of the display, even using the laptop with a split-screen setup has become extremely difficult for my professional work.

My concern

This is now four separate display-related incidents on the same ₹80,000 laptop, including recurrence of the same power-cycling issue after HP replaced the motherboard.

I have already contacted HP Customer Support and subsequently the HP Service Head Team. However, my case is currently being assessed almost entirely from the perspective of the product being out of warranty, with the proposed solution being a chargeable repair.

My concern is not simply that the warranty has expired. My concern is the complete history of repeated failures, the previous HP repair intervention, the recurrence of the same fault, and similar reports from other owners of the same model.

I would appreciate guidance from HP Community moderators or HP representatives regarding whether this case can be escalated to an appropriate product-quality or senior customer-relations team for review.

I am happy to provide my HP case/reference number privately to an HP moderator if required.

I have retained:

  • Photos/videos of all four incidents
  • Previous HP service documentation
  • Evidence of the motherboard replacement
  • Evidence of the current display failure
  • Relevant public reports from other Victus 16 owners

I am not posting this to attack HP or avoid paying for a legitimate repair. I am posting because four display-related failures on the same machine, including recurrence after a motherboard replacement, have seriously affected my confidence in the product and have significantly affected my professional work.

I would appreciate any guidance on getting this reviewed beyond the standard out-of-warranty repair route.
