Victus by HP 16.1 inch Gaming Laptop PC 16-d1 (53F52AV)
Microsoft Windows 11

I bought this laptop and I'm trying to connect it to a dock that's connected to 2 monitors.
I can see the monitors but they are disabled and I can't enable them.

The same dock is used with a 2017 HP Omen through a USB-C connector and I can use the 2 monitors without a problem.

Question: does the USB-C port on Victus support alternate mode? From the manual it seems that I can use a monitor on this port.

Hi @drbarbu,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I'd like to help!

I am afraid not. The USB-C device port on the Dock is designed for Data transfer only not for video. You should use HDMI or DisplayPort ports on the Dock for monitors. You should use HDMI or DisplayPort to connect to USB-C Dock.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.

I already use a USB-C to HDMI extension cable and it works. But I wanted to use the dock which includes 2 HDMI ports, VGA port, 2 USB 3.2 ports, a gigabit LAN port, an SD card port and 2 USB-C ports.
