Victus by HP 16.1 inch Gaming Laptop PC 16-e0000 (2V8Z7AV)

Hello,

I have a problem with freezing and lag in-game on my laptop that I bought 3 years ago. I rarely use this laptop because it's a secondary one that I use when I'm on the go. The issue has been occurring for about 2 years now, but I couldn't pinpoint exactly when it started.

It's a Victus laptop equipped with an Nvidia RTX 3060, an AMD Ryzen 7 - 5800HQ processor with Radeon Graphics, 16GB of RAM at 3200MHz DDR4, and a 512GB WDC SSD.

The problem seems quite simple at first glance, but I've tried everything. Essentially, when I launch a game, it runs normally, but every 10-15 seconds, it bugs out for a few seconds, the GPU usage spikes close to 100%, and my FPS drop to around 2 to 10.
Here's a video showing the issue in action (with Nvidia Frameview and Task Manager showing performance): Video Link (the problem occurs around 30 seconds in).
And here's also a link to a screenshot of a 3DMark test done after restoring the PC to factory settings: Screenshot Link

The solutions I've tried:
• Updating all drivers
• Completely reinstalling a Windows 10 operating system
• Using Universal x86 Tuning Utility to stabilize CPU consumption (I saw on a forum that the problem might stem from there)
• Reinstalling old Nvidia drivers (from November 2022)
• Removing AMD Radeon Graphics drivers (I read there could be a compatibility issue between the two graphics processors) • Testing with another SSD
• If I disable the AMD Radeon Graphics card in Device Manager, the entire PC starts to lag, and if I launch a game, I get a constant 2 frames per second.
• If I disable the Nvidia RTX 3060 graphics card in Device Manager, I can play games at a stable 30 frames per second (feels like 15 fps) but no freezes like before. Hence the hypothesis of incompatibility between the two graphics processors (Nvidia & AMD).

I'm currently out of ideas. I think the issue lies with the graphics card, but is it a compatibility problem with AMD Radeon Graphics or is the Nvidia graphics card having a hardware issue?
I would like an answer, even if the problem is hardware-related; in any case, I've already opened the PC, and the warranty has long expired. Just want to know if I'm right to keep pushing to find a solution to my problem haha.

Games tested where the problem occurs: League of Legends, Teamfight Tactics, Stray, Dark Souls III Games where the issue occurred but no longer does: Dark Souls 1

This may be useful but you probably tried them already.

I recommend you get on Redditt and find a discussion group for the game you are playing and see what solutions are available.  If the GPU maxes out then you need to cut resolution.   If the pause is occurs when moving to new area then the textures are not loading fast enough.  Lower resolution helps this.  I do not see any hardware possible as you seem to have a good system.

Thank you for your quick response.

Unfortunately, the issue doesn't seem to be with the games, as it happens (albeit much more rarely) when I'm in my browser or any other creative application. And it's not related to loading a particular area or something similar, because I still experience these problems even when I'm AFK. Moreover, my setup should theoretically allow me to play Dark Souls 3 at maximum resolution with graphics settings also set to the maximum.

Additionally, most of my tests have been conducted with all optimizations in the Nvidia control panel and game graphics quality set to the lowest. 😕
