HP Notebook - 14-ac104nx

I own a HP Notebook - 14-ac104nx running Win 10 64bit

The True vision HD integrated webcam does not work.  Having looked through the HP product support pages and followed the advice posted/listed, it still does not work. The current situation is as follows:

  • Re-installed Cyberlink YouCam software. The Capture Device settings appear correct and are set to ‘HP Truevision HD’.
  • Cyberlink YouCam will not display any images from the camera. The screen displays a blank grey screen instead of an image. If you attempt to capture an image a warning appears telling you ‘Cyberlink YouCam could not capture the content’.
  • Notebook Device Manager identifies only ‘HP Truevision HD’ under Imaging Devices. The drivers are up to date and the Device Status is ‘This device is working properly.’
  • Virtual Assistant has me in a loop... doing the same things over n over again.. but problem remains unsolved

Very frustrating to not be able to determine the problem! Any other suggestions or help will be very gratefully received. The webcam used to work but don't know when exactly it stopped working as I never had to regularly use it. Now when I need it the most during the lockdown I found that it doesnt work

If anyone can .. pls do help

Hey ppl,

Solved this issue myself with a lot of trial n error..

The Anti Virus software was blocking the functioning of the webcam on my Notebook.

I disabled the Webcam Protection and .. Yes .. Webcam works Just fine
