Hello, I'm asking you about the following problem.
After performing a firmware update for multiple devices using HP Support Assistant, the camera no longer works.
The specific error is unusual: The camera appears in Device Manager, but when using an application that accesses the camera (Firefox, Camera for Windows, etc.), the camera disappears from the device list.
The most suspicious thing is that when I restart the computer, the camera is no longer visible in Windows.
BUT if I restart, enter the BIOS, press F10 to save and exit (without modifying anything), when I enter Windows, the camera is visible again, but when I use any application, it "disconnects" from the Device Manager.
In Camera for windows it gives the error: 0xA00F4244 NoCameraAreAttached
I initially thought it might be a compatibility issue, as I installed Windows 11 LTSC a few months ago and the camera worked fine before the firmware update.
To rule out OS issues, perform the following tests.
1)Check the camera's security options
-The error persists.
2)Uninstall the driver from Device Manager and restart.
-The error persists.
3)Connect a generic USB camera to rule out USB failure= The generic camera works correctly.
-The error persists.
4)Repair system:
sfc /scannow
DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /CheckHealth
DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /ScanHealth
DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth
-The error persists.
5)Restore Windows:
-The error persists.
6)Download a new Windows 11 PRO ISO and perform a clean install.
Check the camera's security options
-The error persists.
