[Product information]
Full model number: HP Pavilion dv2700
P/N: FF470EA#ABV
dv2999ee
In my model's Specifications, it says:
[Pointing device: Touch Pad with dedicated vertical and horizontal Scroll Up/Down pad]
I tried some solutions, but I found nothing.
And in device manager under "Mice and other pointing devices" it only has this one:
"PS/2 Compatible mouse"
So I assumed it should be a driver problem and not related to settings.

Were you able to get it to work? I also have an older 2008-era HP dv2700 & I installed a new SSD & Windows 10, but the touchpad scrolling function won't work & unable to get 2-finger scrolling to work either. P.S. This laptop feels really new and snappy since I upgraded to a SSD.

Sorry for the inconvenience, as I didn't intend to check this site again because I gave up on my wrecked laptop and I used it's hard drive as an external hard drive.
Nevermind, you were lucky because I checked my emails and saw your reply.
- Were you able to get it to work?
Yeah, fully functional.
I fail to remember that which software helped me, I think it was the one that Paul_Tikkanen sent in this topic.
When I installed it, some program was added to my control panel and from there I had a whole new experience with my touchpad.
- I installed a new SSD & Windows 10
My laptop's graphic was damaged and It couldn't handle windows 7 or 10.
So I had to use XP.
But isn't windows 10 a bit heavy for it?
- the touchpad scrolling function won't work
I assume that's because of windows 10's incompatibility.
