System Model HP ENVY x360 Convertible 15-cp0xxx
Hello,
My envy laptop has developed an issue with the webcam, in that it will not turn on at all. I can see that it tries to turn on (the little red flashy thing comes on - I'm assuming this is part of the IR camera), but it will not unlock via windows hello, nor work on zoom or any other apps. I have tried literally everything to resolve this including:
- Resetting windows completely
- Uninstalling, reinstalling, upgrading all camera drivers directly from HP
This appears to be a result of the repair of the laptop conducted by HP, in which they replaced the screen and fixed a faulty hinge. This repair was undertaken under warranty, but now the laptop is not under warranty anymore. Unfortunately I have only just noticed this fault as I come to require the laptop for video calling purposes - I originally thought it was just an issue with windows hello, but this is not the case.
I have attached a screenshot of the camera modules which this laptop has. Help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi @jamesduffy,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
As this is a hardware issue, I'd suggest you Contact HP in your region regarding the service options for your computer.
If you are having trouble navigating through the above options, it's most likely because the device is out of warranty. If yes? please send me a private message with the region you are contacting us from. Check next to your profile Name, you should see a little blue envelope, please click on it.
Have a great day!
