HP ENVY Laptop 13-ba1000 (1F4E1AV)

Without any known trauma the hinge on the laptop broke I'm now at a stage I cannot close the laptop. Although under warranty I have been told this is not covered. I can't close the laptop and the authorized local distributor wants 450 to fix it. Am I going mad or is this rubbish. Other than not closing there is no other issue with the display and or laptop. Looks brand new.

Many thanks @Alden4

I have reached out to the local HP contact who empatised with my issue and then charged me 30 euros to tell me it will cost 430 to fix the issue.

So what I learned from this situation is that I am not covered from the warranty and that HP laptops break easily very quickly and cost too much to fix them. I will never! buy or recomend another HP product again as no one should be asked to spend another 450 euros to fix a product they just bought.!
