My HP envy laptop touch screen is not working, how do I fix this. I rely on the touch screen a lot.

If the touch screen  stopped working after a Windows update then you can use the Device Manager to roll back the touch driver

Note that my touch driver "roll back" is grayed out indicating it was never replaced.

If it simply stopped working and there was no update then possibly physical damage.  Is there any visible damage to the display hinges?   Any change in the way the display opens?  Did it take a faill?
