Microsoft Windows 11

In device manager, HP 2MP front camera is gone... replaced by placeholders which don't work. No specific 'camera' driver on software page for my device. Might have corrupted drivers.

Hi @Heinrich_C.

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand that the Webcam on the printer is not detected. If your HP Omnibook's front camera isn't detected in Device Manager, try updating the camera drivers, scanning for hardware changes,

1. Update Camera Drivers:

  • Open Device Manager: Right-click the Start button and select "Device Manager".
  • Locate Camera: Expand the "Imaging devices" or "Cameras" category.
  • Update Driver: Right-click on the camera driver and select "Update driver".
  • Search Automatically: Select "Search automatically for updated driver software".

2. Scan for Hardware Changes:

  • Open Device Manager: Right-click the Start button and select "Device Manager".
  • Action Menu: Click on "Action" in the Device Manager menu bar.

Scan for Hardware Changes: Select "Scan for hardware changes

3. Try BIOS Restore:
1) Shutdown the computer, keep the  charger plugged

2) Hold down the Windows and B button together while the computer is still turned off.

3) Turn on the computer and continue to hold the Windows and B button until a BIOS Recovery screen appears.

4) Follow on-screen instructions and click on OK

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
