Hi,
I have a HP Spectre x360 - 13ae013dx laptop. I have been using this laptop with an external display monitor (Viewsonic - VA2252SM) for 3 years. I use a VGA cable that connects the monitor to my USB-C Travel Hub G2. The travel hub connects to my laptop USB-C port. I also connect my Logitech keyboard and mouse to the travel hub. All of a sudden since yesterday my laptop does not detect the external monitor. But my laptop detects the keyboard and mouse. I ensured that nothing is wrong with the external monitor, VGA cable or the travel hub by connecting a different laptop in the same manner and everything works fine. The laptop is able to detect the external monitor. This led me to believe that something is wrong with my laptop. Here are the following solutions that I have tried.
1. I have restarted my laptop several times and it does not work.
2. I have tried to detect the external monitor using System -> Display -> Multiple Displays -> Detect other displays. My laptop is unable to detect other displays.
3. I checked the display adapters under device manager. The Intel(R) UHD Graphics 620 is installed with the most updated version 23.20.16.5044. I have tried uninstalling this driver and trying to detect the monitor which did not work. I reinstalled it, restarted and tried it and it did not work.
I would really appreciate if someone could guide me to fix this problem.
Thank you!

- Have you tried connecting the display without a USB hub?
