Hi @Davo1966,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your laptop!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

Try these steps:

Verify Multi-Monitor Support

  • Ensure your laptop model supports multiple external displays. Checking the specifications for your laptop's graphics card can help determine this. Integrated graphics may have limitations on the number of additional displays supported.

Correct Connection Type

  • Confirm that you are using suitable connection types (e.g., HDMI, DisplayPort) that are supported by both the laptop and monitors.
  • Try different cables or ports on your laptop if available.

System Settings and Configurations

Display Settings in Windows 11

  • Right-click on the desktop and select Display settings.
  • In the display configuration menu, click Detect to attempt to recognize the additional monitors.
  • Ensure you have selected the option to extend or duplicate displays under the multiple display settings.

Graphics Driver Update

  • Update your graphics driver by accessing Device Manager.
  • Expand Display adapters, right-click your graphics card, and select Update driver.
  • Automatically search for updated driver software.

BIOS and Windows Updates

  • Verify that your system BIOS is up-to-date with the latest version from HP’s support site.
  • Check for any available Windows updates which may include fixes for multi-display support issues.

Advanced Troubleshooting

Graphics Control Panel

  • Check your graphics control panel (such as Intel Graphics Control Panel or AMD Catalyst Control Center) for multi-display settings and enable or configure monitor outputs appropriately.

Monitor Identification

  • Make sure the monitors themselves are powered on and set to the correct input sources.
  • Test each monitor separately to confirm they are functioning correctly when connected one at a time.

Hardware Testing

  1. Hardware Testing and Reset
    • Disconnect all monitors and restart your laptop. After reboot, connect a single monitor at a time to test each connection independently.
    • If there's an adapter or docking station involved, test with a direct connection first to rule out a faulty adapter.

I hope this helps.
