have a issue where the laptop wont use the Radeon RX 550 during gaming
intel HD 630
Radeon RX 550 (2gb dedicated)
intel i5-7300hq
12gb DDR4
none of the games run good now, ive uninstalled and reinstalled drivers from both HP and AMD, and used the Performance and power savings options and tried setting up Profiles on the new AMD Adrenaline software
when I go to device manager and go to the Radeon card and go to options no display is shown as connected
I do the same on the desktop display settings and it shows only options for the Intel gpu
if I disable the Intel in device manger all my games state there is a incompatible graphics card detected
my games ran really good about a month ago......even older games have really low FPS now.....like diablo 3 runs at 17-30 FPS which is unplayable......

Welcome to the HP Support Community!
I recommend you update the BIOS and the chipset driver from the below link and check if it helps.
https://support.hp.com/in-en/drivers
If you continue facing the issue, then follow the below steps.
NOTE: There is a huge variation in versions of the ATI/AMD Radeon Catalyst Control Center for adjusting the settings for these cards so the following should be seen more as indicative than actual. Even if your Control Center looks different to these images, the principles are the same and you should be able to find similar options to those described here.
9. For ATI/AMD Radeon cards, go to Graphics > PowerPlay - Set Plugged In and Battery to Maximum Performance. Click Apply.
10. If applicable to your graphics card, go to Graphics > 3D and move the slider across to Performance so it is set for Optimal Performance. Click Apply. NOTE: This function might not be available on all ATI models.
11. If your Catalyst Control Center has the Switchable Graphics tab go there and browse to locate seratovideo.exe and set it for High Performance. Click Apply. Do the same for your host Serato software also - Scratch Live, Serato DJ or ITCH.
The Serato Video location for earlier versions is C:/Program Files(x86) / Common Files / Serato / Serato Video / Serato Video.
The Serato Video location for newer versions is C:/Program Files(x86) / Common Files / Serato / Serato DJ / Serato Video
Let me know how it goes and you have a great day!

Ok so I’ve done all you suggested, one tip though you mentioned using the AMD Catalyst control center which AMD doesn’t use anymore they use a newer program call Adrenaline 2019 so update your info....I recently found my games and laptop work well on battery power but not plugged in....also charging times increased dramatically from like 2-3 hours for full charge to like 5-8 hours so I called HP Tech support and they suggested I order a new factory AC Adapter from HP so that’s what I did

Thank you for keeping me posted.
Please check with the new adapter and I am positive it should take care of the issue.
If any other questions arise, please feel free to write back to me.
Cheers!
