Hi,

The built in camera failed to work several times and I needed to reinstall the camera driver and restart the computer each time it failed. I tried to chat with HP virtual support about this issue but it couldn’t proceed because it doesn’t recognize the serial number (said my SN was invalid). Can someone tell me why my serial number wasn’t recognized and help fix it so I can have my camera fixed next?

Model: HP EliteBook 840 G11

Product ID: A2AU7UA#ABA

Mt initial problem was that the built in camera gave my error code “OxA00F429F” once in a while, and whenever that happened I needed to go to device manager, uninstall camera driver, reinstall the driver, and restart the computer. It might be a driver failure or hardware problem at this point. So I tried to find tech support to help with it.

However, there is no way I can reach a real human tech support. The virtual support kept asking for my serial number to proceed, but it couldn’t recognized my serial number (I double checked that I put in the correct S/N#). It said my serial number was invalid.

So now I wanted to know how to fix the issue with unrecognized serial number first, then to know how to fix the built in camera.
