Laptop does not "see" monitor(s) attached via HP thunderbolt docking stations G2 or G4 I have at work. So I've been using a Dell USB-C / thunderbolt docking station at work. Just want to state that off the bat, though this is not my specific issue here.  I also have an HP G2 docking station at home, and it behaves the same as the Dell for the purposes of this bug (so issue is likely on the computer end...).

Issue: In the last two months, when laptop boots up connected to the Dell docking station, about 1/2 the time it does not "see" the monitor. The workaround I have found is to reboot into the BIOS, an toggle the Thunderbolt "Mode", then reboot again. Yes - just toggling it to the other setting and saving the BIOS settings will do it.  You have to both change the setting an save the BIOS, or the workaround fails.  It will work fine until the next reboot.
