HP Notebook - 14-cf1599na
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

HI, I have a cf1599na notebook, I`ve only used it a handful of times, and the motherboard decided to die on me, no illumination when charger plugged in, and no illumination when power button pressed. so I replaced the motherboard from another hp14 cf model but with a different processor, and have matched the ram accordingly to the new motherboard, It now illuminates when charger plugged in, and now illuminates when power button pressed, however there is nothing being displayed on the screen, I have plugged in a HDMI lead between the notebook and tv to see if its the screen cable but nothing on tv as well, however the tv is telling me that something is trying to communicate. Has anyone had something similar, or can offer anything else I can try to get this notebook to the next stage. Please note notebook is out of warranty,

That must be hard. Don't worry as I'll be glad to help,
I understand that your HP notebook is not working correctly. If you have already performed the steps from the document HP Notebook PCs - Computer Does Not Start: https://support.hp.com/in-en/document/c01997899, No Power or no Boot and the issue persists, it could be a hardware failure.  Please reach out to HP Support in your region regarding the service options for your computer. HP Support can be reached by clicking on the following link: https://www.hp.com/us-en/contact-hp/ww-phone-assist.html

Hope this helps!

hi, whilst the info link was useful, I had already tried most of the steps prior to posting here in the forum.

unfortunately it looks like a motherboard failure, which was unfortunate.I did swap the motherboard from another hp-cf model, but this illuminated to show power and when the `on` button was pressed but wouldn`t boot up. so the laptop will be sold as spares or repairs, and I`ll be buying another manufacturers laptop.

thanks for your help, and i now know where to come should I acquire further help with an hp product.
