HP ENVY - 13-aq1195nr
Microsoft Windows 11

I have been having display issues on my HP Envy 13 aq1195nr. It was working fine until I installed the windows 11 22H2 feature update. Then after logging into the computer the screen would violently flash making the computer unusable. Restarting the computer would stop this from happening and the screen would work fine. From that it is clearly not a hardware issue but a software. I would like to try reinstalling the graphics driver however the HP website will not give me any drivers for my laptop. Could you provide a download to a graphics driver that will work for my computer? Or do you know how to solve this problem?

Hello @Zachswad

Sorry to hear that you are having problems ... I would like to help you.

(1) Double check with external monitor connected via vga/hdmi cable.

Do you see boot screen and Windows loading on external monitor ?

- Power off external monitor

- Connect vga/hdmi cable

- Power on external monitor

- Power on notebook

When doing this the boot screen shows up on the laptop display and once it is booted up the lock screen shows on the external monitor.

Hello @Zachswad

Thanks for reporting.

You are on an uncertain path with Windows 11 ...

Recommendation and solution

You should downgrade to Windows 10 because Windows 11 has not been officially tested and released by <HP> and there are no drivers available.

(1) Make backup copies of the most important personal files and data to external <USB hard drive>.

(2Downgrade

Please read and follow the guide carefully !

Downgrade from Windows 11 to Windows 10

See Section <How to downgrade Windows 11 to Windows 10 after 10 days>
