Hello, I have been using zorin os, a distro based of ubuntu for some time now but it seems that there is a problem where when im watching a video or when i shake a window fast, I get screen tearing.
I tried adding the TearFree flag on /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/20-intel.conf but it didnt help alot as it removed the tearing but my screen got slower. I also see that whenever I connect my charger to my laptop, the speaker sound becomes distorted and the tearing becomes more visible alongside slowness. I have to note that I use fractional scaling
Can anyone help me?

Hi @anglaro,
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your laptop!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
Try these steps:
Improve Intel Graphics Configuration
If you're sticking with X11, refine your config:
Edit the file:
sudo nano /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/20-intel.conf
Use the following configuration:
Section "Device"
Identifier "Intel Graphics"
Driver "intel"
Option "TearFree" "true"
Option "AccelMethod" "sna"
Option "DRI" "3"
Option "TripleBuffer" "true" EndSection
Save and reboot your system.
Adjust Power Management Settings
To prevent slowness and tearing when on AC power:
Edit (or create):
sudo nano /etc/modprobe.d/i915.conf
Add:
options i915 enable_dc=0 enable_fbc=0
Then:
sudo update-initramfs -u sudo reboot
I hope this helps.

Hello @Kuroi_Kenshi and thanks for your help.. however, while charging it is still a see a slow down in performance sometimes. The sound continues to be distorter while charging, this settings in the xorg intel driver made my desktop freeze when ever i enter. I basically get a grayed screen whith only a wallpaper and flickering...at one point it freezes completely and I can only reboot. I have to note that when using tear free, my windows where having weird glitches like vertical lines and glitched text
This is what the gpu returns
