I have a form of macular degeneration and I just got this laptop but even on the lowest setting the brightness is too bright. My old dell went much dimmer. I read something about lowering on the intel graphics car control panel if this has one one - whereever it is. Anyway I need some intervention because bright things just overpower and white out my poor vision. I hope hp can resolve this. Or some person knows how I can do it. I guess at worst I could attach a tinting film to the screen.

@expressobookwor -- can you use tinted sunglasses? In a local "big-box" consumer electronics store, I see glasses that are supposed to filter-out some of the "blue" colour from TV/monitor screens.

Since you claim to be using Windows 11, right-click on the desktop and choose Display Settings. Then, under Brightness & color, enable the Night light function. This will dim the bright white somewhat and that should help.
I also have AMD so I know what you are talking about -- as I keep my screens down to 70% brightness at most all of the time. Other folks complain that they can't "see" the screens -- but I can, just fine.
