HP Gaming Pavilion - 15-cx0056wm
Microsoft Windows 11

I have intel core i5 8th Gen(HP 15-CX0056WM), If I connect a 4K resolution monitor to the mentioned laptop, will the monitor be able to display 4K videos/games/playback?

Your CX0056WM has one or both of the following

BeemerBiker_0-1688230907849.png

The Discrete is based on your I5 cpu which is  "Intel UHD Graphics 630 "

Both GPUs (630 or 1050TI) can stream video at 4k so any Blu-ray movie will show fine if MP4 or using a USB3 Blu-ray player.  There could be lip-sync problems depending on the source of the video.

Gaming would be far different as interactive gaming produces latency and the video could tear up or drop to a low refresh rate.

.

Pick any of the following web sites and put in your favorite game to see how well it may run with what you have.

I was searching about it and I got to know that it depends on HDMI slot too, since the 4k monitor will be connected through HDMI. So, I want to ask what is the HDMI slot on the mentioned laptop and is it capable of transferring 4K data seamlessly

and also at what refresh rate?

And yes, the laptop has both the GPUs. 4GB dedicated Nvidia 1050Ti, and Intel(R) UHD Graphics 630.

Also, what do you prefer, higher refresh rate or higher resolution?

Thank you for the previous response.

So, no one knows about this issue?
