HP ENVY x360 Laptop - 13-ay0021nr
Microsoft Windows 11

When I was opening my laptop (like one does) I heard a horrible crunching noise and saw the screen separating from the metal body of the laptop and the metal hinge going through the screen. I have never dropped or otherwise damaged this laptop, so such a catastrophic failure is baffling to me. Reading through the HP forum, it sounds like this is a very common design flaw in HP Envy x360 laptops. Will HP repair this if my laptop is out of warranty because this is their design flaw and not something caused by me? I need this laptop for college, and I cannot afford to repair/replace it.
