I need to hook a second monitor up to my HP 14 Notebook, 14" HD Display, AMD Athlon Silver 3050U. I hook one external monitor up to the HDMI port, but when I try to hook another monitor up using the USB-C port using a USB-C to HDMI converter, it does not recognize the second monitor no matter what I do. The monitors are also HP brand 24-inch monitors (HP 24mh 23.8-inch Display), and I can use them this way on my Mac OS MacBook Pro with no problem both connected using USB-C to HDMI converters. The monitors have HDMI out, VGA out, DisplayPort out. How can I r them both to my HP laptop so I can have a dual monitor setup? It is very frustrating that the USB-C doesn't work. Now I understand why this laptop was so inexpensive. The Ethernet converter that I ran through USB-C only supports 10 Base T (so my laptop is faster on wireless than on a wired connection!); now I learn that the USB-C port on this machine doesn't support monitors, just power. So is there a way to hook up two monitors via the USB A or some other port?

Your machine could be one of the following machines
For example: HP Laptop 14-fq0045nr
It ONLY has 1 SuperSpeed USB Type-C® 5Gbps signaling rate port which does NOT support Alt mode nor Power Delivery. You can NOT use it to
- Charge your machine,
- Connect to an external monitor with/without hub/dock/adapter
If you wish to connect 2 external monitors (only), you can use
- Monitor 1: HDMI direct cable,
- Monitor 2: Using a Displaylink Certified USB-A to HDMI adapter such as
For more connectivity, please use
True Universal Docking Stations
Regards.
