HP Spectre x360 Laptop - 15-eb0003na

My HP Spectre x360 has been having some display issues, where flickering static horizontal lines (typically white or black, but seems to depend upon the colour of the picture on the screen) are appearing. Sometimes, it is very subtle with only only a few separate rows of pixels flickering at a time. Other times it takes up the entire screen. I have tried to recognize a pattern for when it gets worse or better,  and the only thing I have noticed is that it seems to get worse the longer the display is on, but this isn't always the case. There seem to just be good days and bad days.

When using an HDMI to connect to a monitor, the issue does not occur on the other display. It appears when the laptop is hot it appears but even when it has cooled down the problem persists.

Sometimes if i use my laptop its completely fine but then when i lock my screen and come back a few hours later the lines appear and it just wont disappear and the more i use my laptop the more the lines increase and then whatever is being displayed on my laptop overlaps with other bits on the screen, for example if i am scrolling through a website the content at the bottom of the screen overlaps with the content at the top and i am no longer able to make out the content and opening a new tab adds another layer on top and then i have 3 overlapping layers.

@Saharkhimji123, Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

External Display Confirms GPU is Fine
Since HDMI output to an external monitor is clean, your Intel + NVIDIA GPU combo and drivers are working correctly. This isolates the issue to the internal display components.

Basic Display Diagnostic Test (BIOS Level)

Reboot your laptop and press F2 or Esc > F2 to enter the HP UEFI Hardware Diagnostics.

Run the "Display Test" from within UEFI.

If lines appear here, the issue is hardware-related.

I hope this helps.

Please feel free to reply here if you have any questions or if you need further clarification on any of the steps.

Take care and have a good day.
