Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

My laptop is about two years old and has been working fine. Just yesterday it started flashing awful horizontal flashing lines across the display as well as relocating some pictures (e.g. when turning on the hp logo flashes on the right and left side of the screen as well as the middle). I tried installing all software updates to no avail. I also sent a screen shot to a different device and the screen shot showed up without any lines. I assume that means it's a hardware issue, but still wondering if there's anything to do without taking it to a repair shop.

Any guidance would be very much appreciated.

Thanks!

Please check in BIOS and let me know if you see those lines

Shut down the Notebook and upon restarting keep tapping on F10 till you enter BIOS

Hi. Thanks so much for your help.

Yes the lines appear on BIOS also.

I also tried running the extensive diagnostic mentioned in another post and it said everything passed.

Any other ideas?

Thanks so much!

@yfreed

If the lines appear in BIOS this is a Hardware issue
