Hi guys, I bought today a really nice Envy x360 13-ag0xxx. It comes with a HP pen on the box, and I bought this laptop just for the pen input, cause I want to use it for illustration and digital art.
Sadly I can't even draw a straight line at a normal speed because the pen input have a terrible jitter problem. If I draw diagonal lines the jitter is even worst as you can see in the image. I know this device comes with N-trig technology, that's the same tech that microsoft has used on the surface and there is a bit of jitter when you draw very slowly too. But this is just an unacceptable level of jitter, even if I draw the lines at normal speed this happens.Pen Jitter
So, maybe is a driver issue? I don't know. I contacted HP CS and they will send me another pen, but I don't think that resolves the issue. Anyone have this problem too? I just bought the laptop today so maybe I should just return it.

Thank you for joining HP Forums.
This is a great place to get support, find answers to your technical queries.
To provide you with an accurate solution, I'll need a few more details:
Have you tried to calibrate the screen?
Did you try to update the Bios?
Could you please help me with the exact model name to assist you better.
I would suggest you update the Bios and Chipset drivers on your PC from our HP Support website, using this link.
For more details, please go through this link: HP PCs - Touch Screen Stylus Pen Is Inaccurate or Stops Working
Keep me posted, how it goes!
Have a great day!
Cheers:)

the laptop BIOS is already updated, I contacted customer service and they updated software, drivers and calibrate the screen via remote desktop. In the end the Customer service guy said they will send me another pen, but I dont think that will solve the problem, when I use my finger to trace the lines the problem persist.
The model is a HP Envy x360 13-ag0002la.
Ryzen 5 processor and Vega 8 graphics.
256 GB of nvme storage
8GB RAM

Strange, I have a surface pro 4 with the surface pen, which I assume uses the same technology, never had this problem for the few years I used it.
Did you contact hp support and they just couldnt help you?

Yes I contacted hp support, and also used the warranty, they even send me another pen, and in the end they replaced the laptop. The brand new one has the same issue. I even tried different hp laptops with the same microsoft pen protocal at shopping centers an every one of them has that issue. I know surface laptops has some jitter too, but in the case of hp laptops is too bad, I don't know why when they are using the same tech.

I'm just replying to vent my frustration with HP's handling of this product line. I've had an overall positive experience with HP over previous years, but this problem is unacceptable. With the pen being a major selling point, they should be offering pen functionality that works. I actually went so far as to buy the tilt pen, hoping that with it being the latest pen they put out, it would work most in sync with this newer Envy x360 line but nope. Just like has been stated before, HP support is no help. And HP as a corporation is so intentionally opaque - no customer feedback options and as far as I can see, no official word that any work is being done to resolve the poor functionality.
