I would like my touchpad to be disabled whenever my mouse is plugged in. My last laptop had an option for this and it was quite useful as my palms often bump the touchpad when I'm typing which can be quite frustrating. Please help.

Hello @Travis_G,

This feature may or may not be available but could you check if the option to disable the touchpad when a mouse is connected is available through the following steps:

  1. Search Touchpad Settings
  2. Select Additional Settings
  3. Navigate to the ELAN tab at the top
  4. Select “Disable when external USB mouse plug in

Otherwise, try to search your device for a separate ELAN control panel or visual interface by searching in Windows search "ELAN" or "touchpad."

A registry change may be necessary if the feature is not visible, but it is a risky move.

Kind regards,

Eddy

Yeah I don't see an ELAN tab. Under the hardware tab there 's an ELAN option, and a properties button. If I click "Properties" though there's no option to disable.
